In implementation of the project BGLD-1.004-0001 " Rehabilitation Center for Children with Oncohematological Diseases" under the Program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Improved Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups", financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) 2014-2021, on 02.02.2022 to the grant agreement between the Program Operator and the Municipality of Kostinbrod № BGLD-1.004-0001-C01 an additional agreement was signed.
The agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science in its capacity of Program Operator under the program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Improved Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups", financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM) 2014-2021 , and the municipality of Kostinbrod retains to the predominant extent the clauses of the main contract for the implementation of the project.
Based on the provisions of the signed additional agreement to the contract, the following changes have been made:
- The total cost of the project increases from 625,822 / six hundred and twenty-five thousand and eight hundred and twenty-two / euro to 1,316,649 / one million three hundred and sixteen thousand six hundred and forty-nine / euro, and this is the amount of eligible costs under the project, including:

- The term for implementation of the project is extended by almost two years, as the deadline for implementation of the planned activities is postponed to April 30, 2024. This is also the deadline for eligibility of the costs included in the project.
Given the importance of the planned trips as part of the activities in order to study good practices and exchange experiences with rehabilitation centers in Norway and Italy, the deadline for their implementation has been extended until the end of the project - April 30, 2024.
Along with this, the possibility to use the services of the Center has been expanded as one of the indicators "Number of families using the services of the Center for Rehabilitation of Children with Oncohematological Diseases" has been changed from 50 to 100.
The agreement reached ensures the effective functioning of the only Rehabilitation Center for children with oncohematological diseases in the country for a total of almost four years with optimal provision of all activities envisaged in the project. This guarantees the development and establishment of this type of innovative service in terms of content for both the country and the south-eastern part of Europe. The implementation of the project activities in the future will support the user groups defined for the service both in the process of social adaptation during the treatment process and after, and in the subsequent steps of resocialization and reintegration of children and their families. With the maximum degree of customer satisfaction so far, the Center has provided irreplaceable qualified support to a significant number of families, for some of them more than once.
As a result of the actual doubling of the deadline for the provision of services and the actual increase of over 100% of the funds from the program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Improved Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups", funded by the Financial, Enhancing the European Economic Area 2014- 2021, the activities under the project BGLD-1.004-0001 "Rehabilitation Center for Children with Oncohematological Diseases" are provided and created in the time of economic economic dynamics, the necessary security and financial stability, both for the beneficiary - Kostinbrod Municipality and for the contractor.
The EEA Grants represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway towards a green, competitive and inclusive Europe. There are two overall objectives: reduction of economic and social disparities in Europe, and to strengthen bilateral relations between the donor countries and 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics. The three donor countries cooperate closely with the EU through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The donors have provided €3.3 billion through consecutive grant schemes between 1994 and 2014. For the period 2014-2021, the EEA Grants amount to €1.55 billion.
