On 9 September, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov and the Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev visited the first in Bulgaria and eighth in the world rehabilitation center for children with oncohematological diseases built in the village of Opitsvet, Kostinbrod municipality

The Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister were welcomed by Mr. Traiko Mladenov - Mayor of Kostinbrod Municipality, Mr. Borislav Borisov - Mayor of Petarch, Mr. Alexander Nenov and Eng. Teodora Gogova - Deputy Mayors of the Municipality Kostinbrod, and the board of directors of the association "Children with oncohematological diseases".

The Ministry of Education and Science provided BGN 1,223,983 to the Municipality of Kostinbrod to ensure the overall functioning of the rehabilitation center for children with oncohematological diseases. A contract was signed between the Ministry of Education and Science and the municipality for the implementation of the project.

The funds are allocated under a project of the program "Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Improved Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups" administered by the Ministry of Education and Science, which is financed by the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021.

The center is the third of its kind in Europe and eighth in the world.
